A stash of cannabis plants went up in smoke at a property in Harehills.

The cause of the fire was traced to an electrical fault, thought to be linked to heavy demand placed on the system by the marijuana growing operation.
* Click here to follow Harehills Today on Twitter.Crews spent about an hour at the scene, from 10.20pm on Monday, and later made a return visit to check the property had been made safe.
The house was empty at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
A police spokeswoman later confired that an illegal cannabis growing "factory" had been found at the address and investigations into those responsible were continuing.
