Young people in Cross Gates hosted a Christmas social for the local community at St Theresa's RC Church.
They provided music at the morning Mass, and took responsibility for the readings, and they put on a sausage sandwich and mince pie fest in the Hall afterwards.

Hannah Zafar, youth ministry coordinator at St Theresa's RC Church, said: "They even provided live music to help put everyone in the Christmas spirit!

"There was a real sense of community and celebration that day, and the energy, warmth and generosity with which the young people served the people of the Parish was absolutely instrumental to that.

"St Theresa's Christmas Social 2007 was truly memorable. And it was all down to the young people who planned, organised and executed the event- they really shone, and parishioners were completely bowled over."
