Autumn is one season in particular that children, of all ages, enjoy – and because of the climate of Great Britain, Harvest time can be a glorious time.
Children rush to gather first Acorns and then Horse Chestnut 'seeds'. Who among us remembers Conker gathering, preparation for 'sport' and stinging, bruised fingers?

There's also the delight on the young faces as they rush through the fallen leaves, kicking them and throwing arm's full of the lovely crackly red and golden leaves into the air to watch them fall again. The Farmers too gather in their harvests, thankful for a good outcome from all their hard work. Truly God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform.

The family of Colton Church celebrated the Harvest too, over a wonderful weekend. First there was a family tea, the results of hard work by Ladies of the Church.

This was followed by a very entertaining evening, everyone joining in and having a good laugh.

It was also lovely to see so many at Worship on the Sunday morning and a delight to see so many from the Junior Church and the Uniformed Groups who helped the Minister and Stewards in delivering a very thought-provoking Harvest Service.

The Harvest display was greatly appreciated (see attached photographs) and the produce went to St. Gemma's Hospice, flowers and fruit went to people who were unwell or housebound, tinned produce was delivered to Meeting Point and a grand total of £150.35 was donated to Methodist Relief Development Fund (MRDF). A big thank you to everyone who contributed.

Having worked so hard at ensuring a good Harvest Weekend, many hands that might have been 'idle' are now active in preparing for other events so watch out for details of the following events:

Saturday, December 1: Christmas Fair – 10am to 2pm.
Sunday, December 2: First Sunday in Advent and Annual Toy Service.
Sunday, December 9: 2.30pm Carols in Temple Newsom Park – led by Concordia. Why not come along and join in?)
Sunday, December 16: 4pm "Simeon" by Roger Jones, presented by Church Choir.
Sunday, December 23: 4pm Crib Service (family oriented).
Christmas Eve: 11.30pm Christmas Eve Communion Service.
Christmas Day: 9.30am Christmas Morning Family Service.
