Hundreds of people had their say on the spelling issue that everyone's talking about. The results have been counted and verified. And the winner is..
The final vote was as follows:

CROSS GATES - spelt two words - 62 per cent

CROSSGATES - spelt one word - 38 per cent

Andrew Hutchinson, YEP community digital editor, said: "This spelling issue has captured the imagination of local people.

"The result may be now known but I'm sure the differences of opinion over the spelling will continue."
