Cross Gates: Pensioner struck by van

An elderly pedestrian was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries after being hit by a van in Cross Gates.
The 80-year-old woman is being treated at the LGI following the collision on Crossgates Road, Crossgates, at 12.40pm on Thursday, June 26.

The road was still closed by 4pm and traffic was said to be backed up around the area - including Austhorpe Road.
