Cross Gates folk are being invited to join in the fun at the Centre's 40th anniversay celebrations on Sunday, September 16.

Crossgates Shopping Centre will be hosting a special celebration, open to the public, in the Centre Square from 12pm until 2pm.

Special guests include the ex-Leeds and England footballer star Paul Reaney and Crossgates original beauty queen, Miss Arndale 1972.

There will also be an exhibition on the shopping centre through the years, in conjunction with the East Leeds History and Archaeology Society.

The Deputy Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Alan Taylor, will unveil a special plaque to mark the 40th anniversary of the Centre, amidst performances by the Jemski Dance Group, Garforth Jubilee Band and local girl guides.

Keep checking www.crossgatestoday.co.uk for the very latest details on the celebrations.
