'Don't have a garden fire': Fire service issue stark warning after multiple homes set alight during lockdown

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the force were called to a garden fire in Gleadless, Sheffield last night (April 9).
The fire spread to homes surrounding the garden and got 'out of control' according to the fire service.

Hide AdThe force said: "Last night we were called to a garden fire in Gleadless that got out of control and spread to several properties...
"This is what happens when people burn household & garden waste. Please don’t do it!
"We’re asking people to pledge not to have a garden fire during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic."
