Hide AdMark, 48, said: “Over the past two-and-a-half years I have organised six comedy nights and raised over £18,000 for Parkinson’s UK and their Leeds branch. As my symptoms were getting worse and as my depression deepened, I wanted to find a way to distract myself from it all. It was through this that I found live comedy made me laugh and took my mind off my Parkinson’s for a while.”
The event featured performers like Monty Burns, Jonathan Mayor, Peter Brush, Amy Vreeke, Simon Lomas and Andy ‘Smug Roberts’ Wilky who all gave their time free of charge.
Paul Jackson-Clark, of Parkinson’s UK, said: “I hope Mark’s story will inspire others to sign up for one of his Comedy nights and if they missed this one, the next is Sunday, March 4 at the Marriott Hotel, Leeds.”
